Cllr Sood has overcome a number of challenges over the years especially during the sudden death of her husband which, whilst widowing her had a profound impact on the direction of her life. She has been immensely inspirational to a number of people, of all races and religions to overcome hurdles and barriers.
She has achieved a lot through trying times and set many benchmarks primarily becoming the First Asian Female Lord Mayor in the UK, a private reception at Downing St and the opportunity to meet a number of high profile public eye figures.
